Umrao Jan Ada is an Urdu novel written by Mirza Hadi Ruswa and this Novel was first published in 1899 and then in 1905. Many scholars considered it as the "first Urdu Novel". It is tale of scarlet woman who fascinates her bitter presence in reflection of alluring past, these feelings entangles her in Nostalgia. She has to survive in a situation despite of her reluctance. Umrao Jan Ada is constrained to live a life which she never wants to. Even in this situation she cannot obliterate her memories of adolescence and parenthood
